Alligator farm flooded

In an upbeat piece on plucky Cajuns, the Washington Post casually mentions that Hurricane Rita flooded an alligator farm in Intracoastal City, Louisiana. For some reason the Post doesn't follow up on the obvious consequence of that bit of intelligence: hundreds of gators are loose on the Louisiana coast.

My money is on the dolphins. They'll run out of darts eventually, but they don't need those to kill sharks. And let's face it, a shark is a lot tougher than a gator.

Erm its swampland. There is already thousands of gators there. Thats where most of the gators on the gator farm came from.. consider them simply released back into the wild.

That is very true - good for them, eh?

I finally found an article about this... but it's rather... odd.
